Unfortunately I didn't get a chance to finish the "30 Day Snap" due to my laptop taking a wrong turn. Luckily it is on the mend now, but beforehand it is going to have to be completely wiped, therefore losing all of my pictures from the past 3 years which is a huge shame. This post was basically just to say that I am still here and I haven't gone anywhere its just I can only access my blog from the iPhone mobile app which isn't very blog friendly so I won't be posting anything until I get my laptop back. Sorry for the lack of posts.

30 day snap
The idea for this post came from Sprinkle of Glitter's post about the 30 day snap. I was a bit hasty to begin with but then decided I'd give it a go because I'd recently just bought a new fancy pants camera (Canon 1100D) and thought this was a brilliant way to test it out. All you have to do is take a picture every day for the month of June and voila. This is the blog post I shall be uploading my daily pictures on to keep them all in one place so feel free to check back every few days. I will of course be posting on twitter everyday when I have updated it so keep and eye out over there. Lets go!

The End Is Nigh
Woah, 2013 has already flown by and I feel like I've done nothing with my time, except go to the odd gig or... seven. I cannot believe that finally, after 12 years of being at various schools I am nearly at the end, I can see it but I'm not quite there yet.
I won't quite know what to do with myself when I have left, no revision to be doing, no dragging myself out of bed at 7am every day, no longer having to see some people I have known longer than I can remember. It is all just a strange concept and at the moment, I am very unclear of how I feel about it.
I know that I am glad to be leaving school, but there's a part of me that will miss it, not necessarily some of the people, but just school in general.
However, I cannot wait to go to college! I am super duper looking forward to no longer being forced to learn subjects I don't want to learn (cough geography, science and german cough). Being able to finally do what I want to do excites me and hopefully it will bring a whole new adventure for me, finally I can be the person I want to be! Goodbye weirdo school girl and bonjour even weirder college student.

Gigs Galore
April has been a crazy month for gigs, (3) but nonetheless it's been a wonderful month. On Thursday 11th April I was lucky enough to win tickets to King Charles' gig that evening at The Wedgwood Rooms in Portsmouth. As it was such late notice I went to the gig with my mum but still managed to have an amazing evening. My favourite songs of the night included Bam Bam, Love Lust and Mississippi Isobel. The crowd's vibe and excitement was unbelievable. When listening to King Charles' album LoveBlood it is completely different from the live shows. I'd previously seen King Charles at Blissfields Festival last year and I immediately fell in love. After the gig the King himself came out and I managed to get a photo with him and he signed a poster I'd just bought; a true gentleman.

Next up was Peace. I'd previously seen them at the NME awards tour in Bournemouth when they had been given an extended set as Miles Kane was unfortunately ill that evening. This time I went to see them at The Wedgewood Rooms on 23rd April and as usual they were fantastic. Every single member in the audience was blown away by their upbeat songs like Lovesick, where sassy frontman Harrison Koisser attached his iPhone to his guitar and was filming the crowd, to their more peaceful songs like Float Forever and California Daze. The indie boys had everyone singing along to every song. The evening was just incredible. Their support band Superfood opened the show with a bang and entwined everyone with their rocky pop sound. Superfood closed their set with their self titled tune Superfood which was the only song they've currently released online and quite a large amount of the crowd were singing along.

Finally was Dog Is Dead, the gig I'd been waiting for since last Halloween when I'd seen them play at Thekla in Bristol, a truly outstanding and memorable gig. Yet again they were absolutely fantastic. Definitely my favourite gig this month by far and also in my top 3 gigs (Dog Is Dead x2 and Swim Deep). The support bands were Kassassin Street and To Kill A King who were both really good and I'm definitely going to buy TKAK's album now. To begin with the crowd was quite small and I guess because it wasn't a sold out show it was obvious that it wouldn't be full up. They opened with a new song titled "Sin" which sounded brilliant. They then moved onto play tracks from their debut album All Our Favourite Stories (blog post about it).

Before playing Glockenspiel Song, Joss (keys) and Rob (lead vocals, guitar/bass) persuaded the crowd to form a "Wall of Love", and Joss crowd surfed during the peak of the song. They then left the stage and just Rob reappeared with his acoustic guitar announcing "this will be a quiet one" and came down to play at the barrier. After the first verse of Young the rest of the band rejoined and created a sexual harmony for your ears. Ending their fantastic set on Teenage Daughter was the right thing to do (pardon the pun) as the whole crowd were singing the song back word for word. It was a truly remarkable gig and Dog Is Dead are definitely a band worth checking out.

Fashion Icon
Jaws played at The Joiners in Southampton again on Saturday 30th March; I went to see them with my friend Georgia. I saw them on Valentines Day supporting Swim Deep and they were brilliant so obviously I had to see them again.
This gig was different to the previous gig. Jaws didn't seem to fit in with the other bands playing that night as the others were all quite folky and mellow and I think only a handful of people in the crowd had gone to the gig to actually see Jaws. Don't get me wrong, their set was amazing and they performed so well, but I felt sorry for them as it seemed like only half of the crowd wanted to be there. Jaws were fabulous, I just feel the crowd were a let down and it may have ruined their gig as they'd had such a brilliant response before. However, I think the crowd that were there for Jaws were amazing and it was easy to identify those who had gone to see Jaws but the rest of the crowd needed to be swapped/replaced with that of the previous gig in February; it lacked the Swim Deep vibe. 5 *'s for Jaws, 4 *'s for the Jaws fans and 1 * for the remainder of the audience.
Since the Jaws gig I've been on a bit of a Jaws hype and haven't stopped listening to them and yesterday I went round my sister's house for a roast as it was Easter Sunday. I wasn't quite sure what to wear, so I'd decided to take a leaf out of Connor Schofield's book and use him as a fashion icon for the day.

I was a bit hasty whether to wear this combo or not but after 5 mins of wearing it I could tell it was going to be a success due to the fact it was so comfortable! I will definitely be wearing various combinations of t-shirts/shirts which means I will have to purchase more shirts to wear over the top. I usually just wear this shirt tucked into a pair of jeans or my black leather-look skater skirt so it was a nice change from the ordinary.

and you can pre-order their Milkshake EP on vinyl which is out 22nd April (only 21 days!)

Ten Things About Me
When doing my daily blog stalking I came across Sprinkle Of Glitter (Louise)'s post 25 Facts About Me, inspired by this I have decided to make a post of 10 things about me; a) because I'm having trouble planning blog posts at the moment, and b) I chose 10 because I don't think I'd be able to come up with a whole 25 (mildly) interesting facts about myself.
1. I'm 16 and I live in Hampshire. (England, UK)
2. I really enjoy going to gigs and/or festivals, and I have a huge passion for music.
3. I'm currently in year 11 but I will be leaving school this year and then going on to study at college.
4. At college I'm hoping to be studying; Photography, Media Studies, Communication & Culture, and English Language.
5. Camden is my favourite place to go shopping and every time I go it's like a new adventure.
6. I'm not as confident as I'd like to be.
7. I'm saving up to buy a Canon 600D (at the same time as saving for gigs/festivals/guitar/record player/vinyls etc.)
8. In 10 years time I hope to have visited New York because that's one of the places I'm most hoping to visit.
9. 2012 was a really great year for me and I enjoyed myself so much and I'm just hoping 2013 will be even better.
